Spring Semester 2010 Small Group Catalog

Welcome to the Church of the Nations Small Groups Catalog.  Below is the current list of groups for the upcoming Spring 2010 Semester of Small Groups.  Spring Semester will last 11 weeks, beginning Monday, February 15 through Sunday, May 2. Sign-ups are open from now until Sunday, February 28, but groups are first come, first serve, so don't delay! Once you choose a group just click SIGN-UP NOW! and follow the instructions!

If you're a young adult who likes to play outdoor sports such as Ultimate Frisbee and Flag Football, this is the group for you. Join us as we run, play, sweat and have a great time!

GROUP 02-D   Central Station (for YOUNG ADULTS)

This group will be a great place for young adults to get to know each other better. Meeting in a home each week, it will be very laid back. Some of the highlights of this group will be FOOD, games, conversation and prayer.

GROUP 03-D    Naked and Unashamed  (for WOMEN)
                          Host - Debbie Crawford

The word "modesty" fills our minds with all kinds of words from "prudish" and "old fashioned" to "frumpy" and even "legalistic." But modesty is more than just skin deep. Come join us as we study God's Word, putting aside our biases that take us to the extremes of our culture or of legalism, so that we can "adorn" our hearts and bodies with modesty that blesses God and man. Mom Time is a group that meets weekly to encourage one another, learn from each other's challenges, and most of all, be refreshed through laughter. Since friends, food, faith and fun are the four ingredients for a happy mom, we invite you to join us as we build friendships while we eat, share a short devotional time together and play fun games. No matter what stage of "mothering" you are in, you need a place to be encouraged and laugh.		 Wednesday @ 7:00pm

Our group will giggle our way through and discuss the DVD series of Pastor Mark Gungor's popular seminar that thousands of couples attend each year. Mark uses a candid and very funny approach of unforgettable illustrations to teach principles that are "guaranteed to strengthen any marriage."

Luke 18:8b asks the question, "..However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" In Hebrews 11:6 God says that it is "impossible" to please Him without faith. Together in this group we will explore the basics or foundations of faith with an emphasis on how your faith can grow and be protected. If you are planning on doing the impossible for God, then you will need to know how to have an unshakable faith in Him!		 Sunday @ 6:00pm

In our pluralistic culture we are often confronted with views contrary to our faith. Together in this group we will tackle some of the questions these views raise head-on, and reinforce the truth that our faith in God is reliable and absolute, standing strong in the face of every critic. Come join us as we read and discuss Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ, using it as a template for grounding ourselves in the Gospel Truth.

Our heavenly Father has called us to be true disciples of Christ and to bear much fruit for His glory; but our bearing fruit is only possible when we trust and obey His Word by abiding in the True Vine that is Jesus Christ. Come join us as we study the classic book by Andrew Murray, The True Vine, to help us see our position in the Vine and how to abide in Him. Together we will let the Holy Spirit teach us what it means for us to be a branch in the True Vine.		 Monday @ 7:00pm

God's Word commands us to, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Come join us as we do just that through aerobic and strengthening exercises (heavy hands workouts), through spending time in our Lord's creation and through studying our Christian heritage as Americans through Dave Barton's The American Heritage series.
