Feature THR3E

Feature THR3E highlights easy entry (typically seasonal) chances for you to jump in and serve.  Don't hold back; you were created to serve! Getting involved is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1.) Pray! - As always, this is the place we should all begin. Pray about what area God wants you involved in, then, move to the next step.

2.) Contact! - Get in touch with the ministry leader or one of the pastors on staff, ask questions, find out the details about what will be involved.

3.) Show up! - This is more than half the battle. When you show up, God shows up and He begins to do a couple of things. First, He begins to change you because you're sacrificing and serving - in short, you're becoming more like Christ. Second, He begins to use you; suddenly
you realize that there's more to life than living for yourself.

Consider the following THR3E areas that are easy entry points for ministry areas:

  • Nursery Helper - Serving as a Nursery Helper gives you the opportunity to see exactly what takes place in ministering to children. It's fun and it takes little to no prep time. As a nursery helper you may be asked to help sing songs, prepare or clean up snacks, or simply play games with the children. If you decide this is the place for you, after a couple of weeks you'll be asked to fill out an application and a background check (everyone receives a background check to protect our little ones).  This is an easy entry point for serving, and you'll have the opportunity to try out a ministry before committing. Contact Jenny Williams, our Nursery & Preschool Coordinator @ (706) 353-1199 for more information.
  • Youth Chaperone - As a Youth Chaperone you'll help our Youth Leaders create an environment where they know that adults genuinely care about them. Sign up to serve and you'll likely end up meeting a few teens that just need a friend or need to know someone cares about them. If you decide this is the place for you, after a couple of weeks you'll be asked to fill out a background check to protect our youth. You can sign up to serve as often as you'd wish (every Wednesday night) or as little as you wish (perhaps just once a month). Contact Anthony Costa, our Youth Pastor, @ (706) 353-1199 x 29 for more information.
  • First Impressions - Outgoing? Enjoy being around people?  First Impressions gives you a chance to experience being a greeter for a couple of Sundays before committing. Our First Impressions team is critical to making COTN feel like the open and accepting place it is; they serve only once every four weeks. Contact Todd Strickland for more information.
